Abstract (EN)

Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires operators and deployers of AI systems to ensure their staff have sufficient AI literacy. This article describes which business software qualifies as an AI system under Article 2, what the literacy requirement actually entails for an Italian SME, and what practical steps are needed before the obligation applies. The focus is on the intersection between AI Act compliance and the information systems that most SMEs already use: ERP, CRM, demand-forecasting modules, and document-processing tools.
